During the fourth quarter, The Content Effect often receives a lot of questions from prospects to clients and they all revolve around one focus, “What should we do with our marketing next year?"
It’s such a loaded question, with no right or wrong answer. However, the following 3 concepts are always a positive place to start and get your team thinking about how to accomplish the bigger picture for 2017.
Consider New Software or Tools
Every business is different, but luckily for us, there are a ton of great tools and software available to help us accomplish specific business goals. Determine what you want to accomplish and start doing research, ask key contacts or business partners and go through product demos. You may be pleasantly surprised to learn that a lot of time saving tools can be free or extremely adorable.
Our Tool of Choice: Hootsuite – It makes managing, learning and tracking your social media efforts a snap. Plus, they offer a ton of free tips and helpful training to learn best practices.
Content Is King – It’s Time to Invest or Create
Content is driving online marketing and unfortunately, there’s no way around it. If you need to update your website copy, start working on it. If you need to update your social media practices so it’s more inviting, it’s time to get going. Consumers today are not spending time to ready long copy—make it short and captivating so you can grab their attention and keep leading them through your sales process.
Our Tool of Choice: A Thesaurus – It’s completely free to use and it can help jazz up your descriptions, especially of products that have been neglected for copy updates.
Get More Exposure by Using Influencer Marketing
More exposure = always a good thing. This year, try to make a serious effort in getting more exposure for your blog post, your new product video or freshly designed website. How? Find high-powered influencers that have a ton of engagement from their followers and see how you could help them. For example, if you’re a small brewery reach out to well-liked and followed beer cicerones to see if they’d be willing to judge or review your brew.
However, keep in mind, if they do you a favor you should be willing to return one.
Our Tool of Choice: Your Network – Whether it’s your professional or personal networks, have a pow-wow meeting to see if anyone knows a perfect someone with exposure to where your product or services could be featured.
As you can see, most of these options are simple ideas but can have some great results!
